MANAGER’S MESSAGE

As per the ancient Indian tradition, education means walking with God. The word education means removal of darkness. When we read them together, it means that if you walk along with God the shadow that permeates over our ‘self’ will be exterminated. Therefore, the motto of the College from darkness to light brings out true meaning of education. Education, therefore, means to lead one to God, the everlasting light to enlighten the hearts and minds of the people. It’s a noble task. That may be the reason why Victor Hugo says, “He who opens a school door, closes a prison”.

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Ann to which the Sisters belong is a Christian Religious Institution founded by the pious couple of Turin (Italy) Carlo Tancredi De Barolo and Guilia Falletti De Barolo in 1834. Active in the field of education throughout the world since its origin the Congregation conducts nearly 60 schools and over a dozen colleges in which thousands of young people, belonging to every social class, community and linguistic group are being educated through the medium of both English and Regional language.

OUR FOUNDER's

The Society of the Sisters of St. Ann of Providence was founded by the noble couple Carlo and Guilia de Barolo of Turin, Italy in the year 1834. They entrusted the congregation to the protection of St. Ann an Educator par Excellence. The couple belonged to the royal family of Piedmont and was childless. They being great visionaries, well-educated and wealthy wanted to bring sunshine into the lives of many poor and neglected children. Hence, they took up various social reforms and started schools for the poor children.
